Work Experience (WE) Program


WHAT IS WE?

The Work Experience program is designed to give students hands on opportunity to experience their potential career path while earning course credit. Students spend a semester with a law enforcement department and participate in various activities/projects.  It is a golden opportunity to build your resume and professional network.  Participating agencies are Azusa Police Department, Cal Poly Pomona Police Department, Monrovia Park Rangers, Los Angeles County Sheriff, Covina Police Department, ConFire Dispatch, and Mt. SAC Police & Public Safety.

Work Experience is not open to all students.

Students eligible to participate in ADJU 90 Work Experience must have the following:

  • Overall good academic standing
  • Completed a minimum of 12 units of ADJU courses OR Completed one SAMC course
  • Be able to dedicate a minimum of 8 hours per week to the program.

Who is WE?

Rachael Brown


Rachael Brown joined Mt. SAC after working in the private sector for 10 years.  She is the Coordinator for the Work Experience Program.  With a professional background in Human Resources, Rachael has experience  in recruiting, business etiquette, industry  relations and  internships.   Students looking  for an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge and theory  in a real work environment and  earn college  course credit, contact Rachael Brown.  In addition to Work  Experience,  Rachael also assists students with career documents  (resumes,  cover letter, applications) and interviewing  skills and techniques.
