Welcome
Whether you are interested in pursuing a career in nutrition and dietetics or simply want to learn how to make informed food choices to improve your health and energy, the Nutrition and Foods Program offers courses designed to help you achieve your goals.
Students preparing for careers in dietetics complete a rigorous course of study that includes food and nutrition science, foodservice systems management, business, communication, biology, physiology, microbiology, anatomy, and chemistry. To become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN), individuals must complete course work approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), earn a master’s degree, complete an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program, and pass the national registration examination.
The Mt. SAC Nutrition and Foods Program provides a strong academic foundation in a supportive environment, preparing students for successful transfer to both undergraduate and graduate programs in nutrition and dietetics on the path to becoming a registered dietitian.
