Course Name	Course Number	Objectives
ESL - Level 1	ESL LVL1	Students will demonstrate language skills necessary to become productive and successful members of the community by completing the English Literacy and Civics (EL Civics) assessment for Level 1. Students will demonstrate Level 1 proficiency by passing the department standardized comprehensive final examination. Students will submit a comprehensive portfolio that includes multiple measures and evidence of beginning level skill achievement in English language proficiency. Students will respond to questions about the history and government of the United States and talk about the flag of the United States in a role play interview with a US Citizenship and Immigration Services officer.
ESL - Level 2	ESL LVL2	Students will demonstrate language skills necessary to become productive and successful members of the community by completing the English Literacy and Civics (EL Civics) assessment for Level 2. Students will demonstrate Level 2 proficiency by passing the department standardized comprehensive final examination. Students will demonstrate the ability to make a doctor's appointment, complete a medical history form, and talk with a doctor regarding a medical issue. Students will submit a comprehensive portfolio that includes multiple measures and evidence of beginning level skill achievement in English language proficiency.
ESL Pre-Level 1	ESL PLVL1	Students will demonstrate language skills necessary to become productive and successful members of the community by completing the English Literacy and Civics (EL Civics) assessment for literacy level. Students will demonstrate Pre-Level 1 proficiency by passing the department standardized comprehensive final examination. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of emergency services in the community and how to contact them. Funding was utilized from WIOA funding to purchase Heinle Picture Dictionary class sets. Students will submit a comprehensive portfolio that includes multiple measures and evidence of low-beginning level skill achievement in English language proficiency.
