Course Objectives:
  • Students will be able to identify, analyze, and/or compare components of visual arts, performing arts, architecture, literature, and/or other humanistic expression.
  • Student completing an assignment will be able to identify the influence of culture on human expression.
  • Students will be able to identify and analyze the formal elements and composition of visual arts, architecture, music, literature, and/or other humanistic expression
  • Students will be able to analyze and interpret art and cultural as expressions ofethnicity, identity, gender, and political power.
  • Students will be able to relate art and culture to the socio-political and natural environment.
  • Students will be able to analyze and interpret various forms of art and culture as expressions of ethnicity, identity, gender, and political power.
  • Students will be able to relate art, culture, or religion to the historical, geographic, social, political context and/or natural environment.
