Sample Websites

Currently website navigation is on the right, where you often see a long list of links to pages. Soon, navigation will move to the top, where you can access drop down menus. This is an important change to make our website mobile friendly and responsive (it can adapt to a desktop, tablet or smartphone!).

The new navigation looks and works best when you have 3-5 drop-down menu choices. When you hover over the menu item, more choices will appear. Some departments have navigations that are 40 items long! That's too much for web users to read, so we recommend organizing them into groups, like "Services" and "Resources".

We made some samples for you:

Accessing the Development Pages

Ready to look under the hood? Here is how you get to the development pages beginning on Sept. 1 at 5 p.m.:

  • STEP ONE: Get training
  • STEP TWO: Log into OmniUpdate using the secret link in the upper left hand corner
  • STEP THREE: In the top right, under your name, find the "WWW" and change it to "MAIN"
  • STEP FOUR: From there, navigate to your pages
  • STEP FIVE: Make changes, save and publish!

Web Editing Training

You definitely want to attend training. This new template is very different from the old template. We added cool new features like an animated photo slider and drop down menus that you'll want to learn about. Also, if your site isn't on OmniUpdate yet, you'll need to attend the beginning training to gain access to the content management system. These hands-on training sessions have limited space, so please sign up via Professional and Organizational Development's calendar.
