Our Services

High School Outreach provides services and support to current college students, incoming Mt. SAC students, and our local community throughout the year. Below you will see a list of events and services that we host on and off our campus. However, due to COVID 19, all our services have moved online. If you have questions, please contact your assigned High School Outreach Specialist.

    • Year-round Services
      • Campus Tours: Our Peer Educators provide general campus tours throughout the year for small and large groups.
      • College Fairs: We are in the community throughout the year providing Mt. SAC information at College/Career Fairs.

    • January
      • Connect 4 – Account Claim and Assessment Questionnaire (AQ) Workshops: During January our Outreach Specialists start to provide hands-on Mt. SAC Portal Account Claim and AQ workshops to our in-district high schools. This is the second step of Connect 4.

      • Spring Cash for College: In collaboration with our Financial Aid Department, we invite our local community and current Mt. SAC students to receive assistance in completing their FAFSA or CA Dream Application.
      • Connect 4 – Special Program Application Workshop: Based on our in-district high school’s request, our Outreach Specialists start to facilitate program-specific presentations and workshops in February.

      • Spring Registration Assistance Center: The first three days of the semester, we assist all students in registering for any classes they may still need. We also set up information booths around campus to provide general information to students.
    • March
      • Seniors' Day: We host 10 of our in-district high schools to introduce their seniors to our campus and resources.

      *Seniors' Day 2020 has been canceled due to COVID 19*

      • Connect 4 – Next Steps Workshops: Based on our in-district high school’s request, Outreach Specialists start to facilitate informational workshops at our local in-district high schools. In the Next Steps workshops they explain to seniors how to complete Mt. SAC’s Online Orientation, how to sign up for a MAP Workshop at Mt. SAC, and when to register for their Fall Semester classes.

        *For assistance with Connect 4 - Next Steps, please contact your Outreach Specialist. MAP Workshops at this time are suspended until further notice. This means that you do not have to attend a MAP Workshop for now to be able to register for Fall 2020*

      • Senior Saturday: High school seniors can sign up to preview Mt. SAC on a Saturday. Their family and friends are welcomed. Students will receive campus tours, workshops, and participate in a resource fair. Family and friends will have a conference separate from their student to learn about Mt. SAC. We will provide lunch to all guests.

      • Connect 4 – Outreach Specialist’s Office Hours: Based on our in-district high school’s request, Outreach Specialist start to host office hours at the high schools to assist students in their transition to Mt. SAC.

      • Connect 4 – Registration 101 Workshops: Outreach Specialist host workshops every Wednesday in June at Mt. SAC to show students how to create a fall semester schedule and how to register for their fall classes on their early registration date.
      • Connect 4 – Make Up Workshops: Outreach Specialist host workshops every Wednesday in June at Mt. SAC to assist students in completing the Connect 4 steps to receive early registration for the fall semester.

      * Connect 4 Registration 101 and Make Up Workshops will be hosted virtually by the Outreach Staff. Please contact your Outreach Specialist for more information*

      • Connect 4 – Registration Assistance Center: High School Outreach invites all Connect 4 students that completed all steps to get assistance in registering for their fall semester classes.

      • New Student Welcome: An event to welcome new Mt. SAC students to the Fall Semester. This is a collaborative event where we work with other departments on campus.

      • Connect 4 – Mt. SAC Application Workshops: During October our Outreach Specialists start to provide hands-on Mt. SAC Application workshops to our in-district high schools.

      • Juniors’ Day: For two days, we host 10 of our in-district high schools each day, to introduce high school juniors to Mt. SAC.
      • Principals’ Breakfast: Our College President and Vice President of Student Services host our in-district high school principals at Mt. SAC to provide them with updates.

      • High School Educators’ Conference: We invite our in-district counselors and high school liaisons to provide them with Mt. SAC updates.
