PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Dawn Waters grew up in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois and moved to California in 1987. After taking just one class at Mt. SAC she quit her job as an Office Manager for a veterinary hospital & went back to school full time at Mt. San Antonio College. Dawn became very involved at Mt. SAC & showed on the Beef & Sheep Show Team. Also, she was very involved at the Horse Unit & helped with the horse breeding program.

After receiving her A.S. degree at Mt. SAC she continued her education at Cal Poly, Pomona. Dawn became an Agricultural Ambassador at Cal Poly & was responsible for recruiting students to the Agriculture Program. She graduated in 1998 with a degree in Animal Science.

After graduating from Cal Poly, Dawn came back to work at Mt. SAC as their Registered Veterinary Technician & Adjunct Professor. She fell in love with teaching & decided to get her High School Teaching Credential, so she could start teaching full time. She has taught Biology, Veterinary Science, Natural Science, Peer Counseling & Link Crew at both Chino Hills High School & Santiago High School. She loved what she did, but her heart was always at Mt. SAC.

Dawn has now returned to Mt. SAC to teach Animal Science classes full time. She has become the Assistant Program Director for the RVT Program and is responsible for the Sheep Unit & will be involved once again with the Livestock Show Team.
